Bisi bele Bath | Instant Sambar Mix

Ingredients:

  1. Zeeraga samba Rice - 350 g 
  2. Water - 1400 ml 
  3. Instant millet sambar Mix - 100 g 
  4. Oil or ghee - Few amount for Tempering 
  5. Mustard seeds - ½ Tea spoon For Tempering
  6. Cumin seeds - ¼ Tea spoon For Tempering
  7. Curry leaves - Few amount for Tempering (optional)
  8. Small onion - 100 g 
  9. Tomato - 100 g 

Procedure:

  1.  Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it for 10 minutes . 
  2. ⁠ Heat 1-2 tsp of oil  in the pressure cooker over medium heat & add cumin seeds , Small onions , Tomatoes and for ( optional - add vegetables) add it and saute for 3 min. 
  3.  Add the washed rice to the pressure cooker and sauté for 1-2 minutes, making sure it's well coated with oil or ghee & add instant millet sambar mix and stir it well.  
  4.  ⁠Add 1400 ml of water into the cooker & And mix it well and keep high flame for 3 whistles and low medium flame for 1 whistle & turn off the heat, add amount of salt based on taste,  open the cooker and mix it well . 
  5. Take a pan, add a little oil and heat it. Add mustard seeds , curry leaves and saute for 1 min and mix in sambar rice and mix it well. 

Pro tip: If you prefer porridge consistency add more water and slightly thin rice means reduce 100 - 200 ml water .
