Crispy Kara Adai

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Wonder Mix
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Chopped Onions
  • 2 tsp Finely Chopped Green Chilies
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Chopped Curry Leaves
  • 2 tsp Coriander Leaves
  • 3 tsp Grated Coconut
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Oil (as needed)

Cooking Instructions:

1. Prepare the Mixture:
    • Heat a frying pan over medium heat.
    • Add 2 tsp oil, ½ tsp cumin seeds, and allow them to sizzle.
    • Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Then, add chopped green chilli, grated coconut, chopped curry leaves, coriander leaves, and salt. Sauté for 2 minutes.
    • Turn off the stove and allow the mixture to cool for 5 minutes.
2. Make the Batter:
    • In a bowl, combine 1 cup Wonder Mix with the sautéed ingredients. Adjust salt to taste.
    • Add 1 cup water and mix until the batter reaches a consistency similar to crepe batter (slightly thicker).
    • Allow the batter to rest for 10 minutes.

3. Cook the Adai:

    • Heat a tawa over medium heat and grease it with ½ tsp oil.
    • Pour one ladle of batter onto the tawa and spread it out gently.
    • Add 1 tsp oil around the edges and centre of the adai.
    • Cook for 1 minute on low heat, then flip and cook the other side.
    • Your Wonder Mix Adai is ready to serve.

Serving Tips:
Serve Wonder Mix Adai for breakfast or dinner with chutney or aviyal. For a nutritious twist, add sautéed moringa leaves to the batter. You can also add chopped cashew nuts for a crunchy Wonder Mix Cashew Nut Adai.
