Idiyappam | Do-Cha Mix

Ingredients:

  1. Do-Cha mix    -       1 cup
  2. Warm water    -       1 cup
  3. Sesame oil      -       1tbs
  4. Salt                 -       as per your requirement

Procedure:

Prepare the Dough:

  1. Take a mixing bowl, add Do cha mix flour,salt & sesame oil in the bowl  and then gradually pour the hot water into the flour, stirring with a spoon or spatula to form a soft dough.
  2. Once it's warm enough to handle, knead the dough until smooth and free of lumps.
  3. Cover the dough with wet cloth and keep aside for 5min

Fill the Idiyappam Press:

  1. Grease the idiyappam press lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Divide the dough into portions and fill it into the idiyappam press.

Press and Steam the Idiyappam:

  1. Grease idli plates or small plates.
  2. Press the idiyappam dough through the press into fine noodle-like shapes, creating a small mound on each plate.
  3. Stake plate and place inside the idli maker and steam it for 8-10 min
  4. Once it steamed remove and serve with hot

Pro tip:

Serve hot with coconut milk, stew, sambar, or any chutney of your choice.
