Masala Mathri | Do-Cha Mix

Ingredients:

  1. Do cha mix                                              -  1 cup
  2. Coarsely  crushed coriander seeds         - ½ tbs
  3. Crosely crushed fennel seeds                 -  ½ tbs
  4. Ajwain                                                     -  ¼ tbs
  5. Jeera                                                       -  ½ tbs
  6. turmeric powder                                     -  ¼ tbs
  7. Kasuri methi                                            -  1tbs
  8. Oil ( deep frying)                                     - required
  9. lukewarm water                                       -  required
  10. Salt                                                           - required

Procedure:

Prepare the Dough:

  1. Take a wide large bowl and add all the ingredients except water, oil and mix them well. 
  2. Now add the warm water little by little and knead into tight dough
  3. Cover the dough for 20 min

Roll and Shape the Mathris:

  1. Take a big portion of dough and roll into slightly thick big roti 
  2. By using cookies cutter cut the dough into small round mathri shape
  3. Roll the dough again and repeat the procedure.
  4. Fry the mathri in heat oil until it turns golden brown.
  5. Remove the fried mathris and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Let the mathris cool completely, then store them in an airtight container. They can stay fresh for up to 2-3 weeks.

Pro tip:

It is perfect for tea time snacks and enjoy mathri with curd and pickle.
